1. Overview

The underlying virtualisation and hypervisor cluster for the homelab consists of a 3-node Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) cluster (numbersix, roslin, apollo) and a dedicated Proxmox Backup Server (PBS) instance. These nodes host the virtual machines (VMs), LXC containers, and storage pools running all Docker workloads.

Ceph Storage Cluster & Resource Monitoring

If Ceph is configured on the cluster, it provides distributed, highly available storage.

Monitoring Ceph Status To view the overall health, status, and usage of the Ceph cluster, use the following commands on any PVE node:

ceph df

Memory & Resource Usage Graphs The Proxmox Web GUI natively provides historical and real-time graphs for memory and Ceph usage (navigate to Datacenter -> Ceph or individual node Summary tabs).

For CLI-based current and free memory usage, you can use:

5. Maintenance & Management

Cluster Administration

Any node in the PVE cluster provides full access to manage the entire cluster through its web UI or CLI (pvecm).

Host Update Commands (via SSH across nodes)

[!SECURITY] Access to n6.m1ckyb.com and pbs.m1ckyb.com is protected by Cloudflare Access (rem-access group). Authentication is required before reaching the hypervisor web interfaces.
